Well done on me! I passed the Market Research Exam! :)

Just a quick update…I was doing an exam back in January-February which had 2 parts – an essay and an exam…the exam itself went really well, but even though 2 great colleagues were kind enough to help me a bit with checking the essay and making suggestions, I was still doubtful about the results as the tutor did not have feedback for me because I was a bit late with it.

It took 3 months to get the results…and now I have them! J
In my language if we are excited and eagerly want to find out something, we say ‘We are sitting on needles’ So exactly that’s how I felt…and I was constantly checking the MRS website for the results and calling the MRS Society and the company who led the course to find out the results.

Finally what a great relief!!! I have passed both elements! I have the certificate!

The feeling when you pass an exam! :) Leonardo Dicaprio gif

And another small step closer to my final goal!

Birthday memories, Part 2

Chapter 2: At work

On the day of my birthday this year there was no fancy first class travel to anywhere. Actually I was in the office working a lot, but my colleagues remembered my birthday and at one point through the day…they surprised me! :) usually we all know that there will be something, but don’t know when exactly and how and whether they sing or not haha :)
They were careful and did not get me any chocolate cake :) because they know I don’t like it! Instead got a Victoria Sponge and a nice card and some more vouchers!!! Vouchers are great, aren’t they!
I can use it on Amazon, but I am putting it towards a bigger thing…I really would like to get the Philips Lumea Laser Hair removal thingy.

And I also got a massive balloon saying Birthday Girl!!! Without any irony isn’t that great to push yourself through the rush hour in the tube with that balloon and collect all the nice smiles and even wishes from complete strangers? :)

Chapter 3: The Norwegian class

On the birthday evening I had Norwegian class. I am still so into it! Maybe because I actually feel that I am getting better in picking it up from lesson to lesson.
Besides of this I wanted to mention this because our teacher knew that it was my birthday and before we actually entered the classroom, he wrote a Norwegian birthday song on the board, which we all had to kind of learn and sing along :) And we also had a short birthday drink after class :)

Chapter 4: Sushi Samba

Finally later this week after work me and a friend of mine from work went to Sushi Samba, however as I was taking some antibiotics I could not drink alcohol so we just went for the Virgin cocktails. They were very delicious!
We had a great night out in the sky eating yummy sushi, having a great conversation and even my toothache went away on that evening! :)

Sushi variety at Sushi Samba London: 3 different choices including even more choices! They are absolutely delicious and I love the delicate styling of each little sushi.

I always wear not only mascara but a thick black line of eyeliner as well, because I think otherwise my eyes are not big enough or not noticeable…and this friend…she only wears mascara on her gorgeous giant lashes! I always wondered what her secret was and tadah!!! It is now revealed! She just got me a great gift: Diorshow Maximizer: Lash Plumping Serum! She explained how to use it and using it since then…I believe the difference is noticeable. :) Perfect!

Finally, Birthday memories - part 1

Hello Everyone! I have been away from the computer for a long long time again. When will I start writing posts on time? But this time not much happened….I was just sick in all April, and last week I even fell from the stairs in Aldgate station.  I took a tumble, just like Scarlet in this hilarious video…I am alright though J besides the many bruises I have and that I could not bend my knee properly for days and it still hurts if I walk a lot...and sometimes I do a lot lot.

But I promised you a tale of my birthday and I also really wanted to post couple of images of the beautiful pressies I got from my good good friends J

Chapter 1: Friends

Trying to put everything in a nutshell. It all started with that I first wanted a party for my birthday since most of my friends are really into cheesy clubs and music…haha I must admit, I listen to those too…
But last minute I changed my mind and I decided to do a dinnerparty in a restaurant. I did not want to go to the other end of town so it must have been something in close vicinity of Notting Hill.

At the time there were 2 new restaurant/cafés on Golborne road. One is West 36, but in the end the other one a Viennese Café out ruled West 36.
Kipferl looked great on its website and I read reviews about it in magazines so it must have been good and its Austrian!!!! Buuuut…due to them having 2 locations foolishly I was checking the Islington branch’s menu…and it turned out that the Notting Hill one has not yet had dinner food, other than some nibbles….so this would not be good enough for my hungry friends haha…

Then I went to the Lonsdale (where Mr Novartis and me went sometimes) but it was completely ripped out….it seemed everything is against me and my birthday!!! And I still did not just want to go to some chain-restaurant.

I tried then Beach Blanket Babylon, but for the number of people it was only the normal menu, which turned out to be a bit expensive, knowing that I was going to pay for all peeps.

Lastly I was walking up and down Westbourne Grove and Eureka!!! I got it! The Austrio-Hungarian place! Tiroler hut! (don't judge the book by its cover - I mean the website is not the best design, but the restaurant :) ) Well again…no, Saturday evening was not an option because they already had a waiting list for that day….so we changed it to Sunday….luckily it was good for everyone, and my date that was planned for Sunday was also happy to change it over to Saturday!

All done! Yippie!

Although some peeps were a bit against the Tiroler Hut at the beginning, by the time we reached it we were all excited and we had an amazing night! The food was delish, massive portions and some homey taste!!! J Besides of all this…it looked like we were in Tirol somewhere in the middle of London. And Joska the owner made everything to make us happy and enjoy our stay there! Singing German, Polish or Hungarian songs! Jodeling! Playing on the piano, saxophone, clarinet and in the end he even showed us his talent in cowbell music! J
We were dancing, laughing, eating, drinking getting to know the other peeps as well, almost every table had someone having birthday on that night J

And my pressies? Yes yes yes!!!! We all say we don’t want the present and it is true in a way, but I must admit that getting something from your friends or family also feels priceless. I got Selfridges vouchers and a night out with one of them in a new cocktail place…and the long desired doll-head mugs, I saw on TheFashionSpot by ENDE Porcelain. Amazing!

Afterall we all went home fulfilled J

I took a couple of photos of the actual mugs and the other things :) Sorry the photos are not the best quality, because those ones taken by my normal camera disappeared from my Mac...

Oh so beautiful...I am so into the white and gold combination...you can't see it here though but they have 24karat golden plated handles, just as it appears on the first pic.

Lastly I was making some fun with the effects and got this one out...I really like how the lying got the gorgeous, almost angel-like curly blonde hair made out of woodchip...

Past Exhibition - Mapping the City in Somerset House

What is a map? Generally we think it is a proportionate miniaturised version of the order or chaos of the surface of the world and its cities!

I have seen plenty of maps throughout my travels and I am able to use them easily to find my way to anywhere in a city/town or country!

So far I still prefer the paper versions, I can hold in my hands, over Google map, however the latter with its always expanding features makes life so much easier!

But what is a map? Is it only the smaller drawn edition of the arteries - avenues and streets of a town or is it something else? We use them to get from A to B...we have specialised maps for the underground to navigate us in the right direction, there are maps for e.g. specific movie scenes to find or graffitis or maps for adventure seekers in Geocachers etc...

A map constantly changes! Some politicians tend to like to change the name of the streets and parks notoriously, so one once getting used to the the names, then they change it again....the great deal of urbanisation and building of skyscraper towns also changes the layout...small streets disappear and melt into one big block that will be the base of the newest one.

Through the Mapping the City exhibition in Somerset House, we realise that a map is not only the map which you use when you travel....it can map your emotions, hierarchies in a country, your brain or whatever the artists below, could thinks they could do with a map!

What's up! :)

Hello my dear friends!

A month has passed again....a lot has happened but I was not here to update you, so briefly I'll tell you now what went on and what is likely to appear here soon.

After the Borondo Exhibition, the next weekend I went to see the Mapping the City exhibition in Somerset House. Someone I follow on Twitter told me that it was worth checking this out, so on the last day last moment I still made it and I also liked it a lot.
I will post some of the pictures soon.

Then I had my birthday...troublesome birthday as I was referring to it...I don't want to update you how it went, because it deserves a post, however I am still waiting for one of the prezzies...a really beautiful one. So again soon I will create the post about it...till then if you want you can reread my 30th birthday week.

Finding the peeps and place seemed a hard nut in the end...had to move a date as well and on the night of my birthday...even though it seems I found some new friend and I had a drink with my best friend and with our new Norwegian teacher...I had a really bad toothache...

So now I am in Hungary and not in London...never bought a ticket this fast...bought it on Thursday and on Sunday I was already on a BA plane to Budapest.

fly BA - British Airways plane in the sky

I stayed in the capital for 5-6 days until the operation....yes small operation...

But by now I am at home in my sweet bed, that I miss a lot :)

Good news in the meantime the editor/producer of no barking aRt magazine has confirmed that the paper will be out this coming week :) and hard copies will be sent to me too, again including my newest article! So soon a post about that needs to come too!

Before I get back...I will still be in the capital and will also drive with a cool car :) ....and then I might go to the Eden Project with friends! But before looking forward to the Norwegian classes :) <3

Xoxo!
