Sentimental in Berlin Blog: Dinner Date at Plateau Restaurant

Hi Lovelies!

Well almost...Dora and I have not chatted for a long time, and since the Evening Standard offer is still on, we thought why not try another fine dining restaurant?
So we went to another great location called Plateau Restaurant in the heart of Canary Wharf with the view of the HSBC building :) and how lucky girls we were...our table was not in the back, but right next to the windows, so we could have double enjoyment...well even triple..I tell you in a second.
We had the view...we had really tasty food with good sized portions...and we even had a reason to celebrate a bit, because I received a so called Valued Award at my company for Collaboration :) but I will talk about it maybe another day!

So back to the restaurant now! It has its own lift to go to the restaurant to the 4th floor! How cool is that! So window seat as I mentioned before...and a lovely waitress who really cared for us! and Delicious dishes in a very fine manner!
So just to kind of list what we had. As a starter Dora had duck soup, while I enjoyed red mullet on escabeche. Hmmm yummy! Then for the main we both craved for the birds! So we tried guinea fowl with Brussel sprouts and parsnip puree, and I had duckling breast with orange sauce and fried panisse (fried chickpea flour cake). The dessert we chose was lemon tart with creme fraiche and strawberry coulis, and Dora went for the intriguing 'Poire belle Helene'...which in mundane language is poached pear with ice-cream, toasted almonds and chocolate sauce....sounds tasty, doesn't it.

We enjoyed every bites and sipping our Tanqueray cocktails too...of course strictly non-alcoholic for Dora, but she got the pansies in her drink then, while I only had a rosemary sprig :)

And if not for a dinner, you can also just get tipsy in one of the bars at the entrance of the place, they also have the view and nice ambience.

Another great dinner, another great company and another only 38£ for a fine dining place! That's why I love London, because you can do whatever you want!

Szep napot mindenkinek!

A mai cim az hogy, vacsora randevu a Plateau-ban...hat majdnem, mert randi volt, csak nem fiuval, hanem egy nagyon jo baratnommel, akivel mar regen talalkoztunk. Szoval mivel az Evening Standard napilap ajanlata meg mindig ervenyes, igy megint egy ujabb luxus-gasztro helyet probaltunk ki :) amely a Canary Wharf (a londoni uzleti negyed) sziveben talalhato es eppen az egyik leghiresebb, HSBC (Bank) epuletre nez. Es milyen szerencsenk volt...a 6 asztalbol, amely az ablak elott van az egyik a mienk lett :) Szoval, igy meg volt a dupla elvezet...sot tripla! Szep kilatas, jo izek...es raadasul aznap kaptam egy kituntetest a munkahelyemen is a munkamert (ami nemi nemu ajandekkal is jar, de mindezekrol majd maskor)

Szoval az etterembe sajat ettermi lifttel kellett a 4ik emeletre felmenni, eleg meno, nem igaz? Megvolt a helyunk kilatassal, emelle kaptunk egy nagyon bajos es kedves felszolgalo lanyt es meg az etel is isteni volt!

Csak hogy ugy meg a kepek elott felsoroljam, hogy miket is ettunk...eloetelnek Dora, monjduk ugy, kacsa huslevest evett, en pedig tengeri pért (halfajta) mediterran hagymas, repas edes savanyu paccal (escabeche). Foetelnek viszont mar mindketten a szarnyasokat kivantuk, igy en kacsamellett rozera sutve kertem, amely mindenfele mas foldi joval volt talalva, mint pealdaul narancs szosz, meg csicseri borso lisztbol keszult rantott rudacska, grillezett endivia salata es repa pure. A Dorae sem volt sokkal egyszerubb, mert o pedig gyongytyukot kapott paszternak martassal es csipsszel ami kelbimbos koreten volt feltalalva. Ez eddig jol hangzik! De meg most jon a desszert...minden vacsora legjobb resze...hihi...imadom az edesseget! Habar en most nem az igazan edesre mentem, es citromos pitet kaptam vekony karamell reteggel, tejszinnel es szamoca cseppekkel...a baratosnem pedig pacolt, posirozott kortet kapott fagyival, mandulaval es csoki ontettel...

Ezenkivul meg egy-egy gines (ejtsd: dzsin) koktel is jart am nekunk...na persze Doranak szigoruan alkohol mentesen....bar igy o kapta a sok kis viragocskat a poharaba, mig nekem csak egy rozmaring szal jutott :)

Ha pedig nem enni mentunk volna, akkor akar iszogatasra is alkalmas a hely, mivel ket bar resze is van, ugyanolyan jo kilatassal es hangulat vilagitassal.

Megint egy jo vacsora, megint egy jo tarsasag es megint joval aron alul jutottunk hozza....na hat ezert is szeretem Londont...mert igaz, hogy irto draga..de azert kis okoskodassal mindent megtehet az ember :)

Na legyen szep hetvegetek sok sok finomsaggal a vasarnapi ebedre! Azert mindezek az inyencsegek mellett hianyzik am a hazai koszt! :)
