Hello again Sentimentals! J
Great news! It seems summer wants to stay in England! J
This weekend was good! Having brunch with George and then
visiting Harrods for its last days of sale. Well, first of all let’s see what
and where we had for brunch! You may be amazed by the creativity and thoughts
of some people, but I would have never thought we were going to this place to have
brunch when I first saw the pictures of the foodie there.
We got off at Great Portland street and headed towards
Oxford street, then we turned onto Langham street, we walked a bit when I was
still eagerly looking at my phone for location, when George said “Ahh! It’s
here!” I was turning my head left and right scanning the buildings on the
sides, but could not see it anywhere, but it was just in front of us! Don’t
expect a fancy building for the
Attendant in Fitzrovia, although it looks fancy
and very Victorian, it is in a toilet! Yes! You read it right! have you ever thought or imagined having brunch in a toilet??? Well some quirky minds have!
It’s in an
unused public toilet! But what a good idea! I mean if you are not fussy, I am
sure the peeps gave a good scrub and now the place looks like a nice hip café…with
the 100 years old water tanks on the walls, spiraled around with bright green plant...fake though but still looks good!
And once you are over the fact that you are literally eating
from the standing urinals, it is a very pleasant experience! Ok it is not so
dramatic! There is a board installed there
J
The atmosphere was good too! Not surprisingly, many people think this is cool and
not to the contrary! It was full and I totally can understand it because
their brunch what we had was really yummy!
George went for the Smashed Avo on Toast with Poached Eggs
and I had one of their signature dishes, the: Vanilla and Passion Fruit French
Toast! Not sure from what initiative but I asked it with poached eggs too! I
should not have because it is very nice and big enough without the egg! Although
it was yummy too!
There is a small counter and it seemed they make everything
fresh right there. There are also some croissants, cookies, brownies or salads
if you want to choose that, the staff was very friendly and I am sure they
would happily do whatever your tastebuds are after! Nice laid back people with
a natural smile on their face! J
It's a nice little artisan Café/eatery with their home made
lemonade and juices in a quirky place, with someone being innovative behind
this whole set up. J
Big Thumbs Up for the idea! If all abandoned buildings in London were used for
Cafes or for living, we would have a less of a problem of housing issues in
this big city.
Let me know if you know other quirky places! J
