This year for me is not the year of the monkey (Chinese) but the year of the weddings! 5 in this year
and 4 of them in Hungary, but this one was actually in London! My dear friends
Sara and Andrew decided to renew their vows in front of friends and family
after 10 years of their marriage!
I was very excited about this wedding for various
reasons. For example, this is the first wedding I went to that was in London -
in a great location, in the Southbank/Royal Festival Hall! And they are getting
married with like 50 couples in the same time! Real crazy, but lots of fun!
What dress will Sara wear? Knowing her passion for gorgeous dresses, it must be
a statement piece! Knowing how eccentric and cool they are, will there be some other surprise for us? Will Andrew wear a quilt or will it be a suit? Will I be OK, since
I don’t know anyone else other than the couple?
The idea for them to have it in the Southbank could not have
been better, as when in London they/we always go there! I remember from last
year when we were strolling around with gorgeous purple irises (flower) or when
we went to an event about organs and composers and god knows how many times
they went there for concerts J
And yes the location and service was great! The ceremony!
Yes it was super eccentric with 12 couples in the same time! And yes Sara wore
a beautiful brocade golden dress with golden shoes! Andrew had the quilt and as
other people have also complimented on it: they looked the most to be in love
with each other. Looking at each other with caring eyes showing love and
happiness!
The whole ceremony was based around a rotation, once our
time slot for the vows was done, we were accompanied to a side place where
champagne was waiting for us! We could congratulate to the couple and mingle a
bit with all the people and of course with all the newly met friends of Sara
and Andrew! Then we went to have our dinner. And while we were having the
drinks and dinner, another set of 12 couples was saying their vows. Dinner
looked and tasted lovely with some more prosecco and wine to come.
After another quick group photography and the wedding cake,
we could delve into the dancing, which lasted until midnight!
I met some new people, I hope, I will see again, since they
are also London based. J
We all had fun! J
and I even got out of my comfort zone dancing around!
