Since I wanted to do a fine dining exploration in
London, taking advantage of the Evening Standard offer for 30 D&Drestaurants where we can have a set menu with two or three courses with a glass
of wine or bubbly for only 15£ to 30£, my colleague and I decided to go for one
the fancier and close-by to work restaurants. She is also into these kind of
things and so we had this great idea instead of going for the usual chain
restaurants we convinced everyone to go to Madison.
Luckily the day we went was supersunny and hot, so
being on a roof was lovely. As we arrived a bit early my RD ordered a bottle of prosecco before dinner and we had so much fun, while sipping it in sunny London
with St Paul’s Cathedral’s dome in the background J
Unfortunately, the restaurant is inside only and there was
no mean of eating outside. The only drawback of this is that there was no air
condition in this place and felt like being a cat on a hot tin roof. The
restaurant was kind of full and our table was close to the door, so we had some
air from outside. The service was great and they were offering both the 2 or
3-course options as well with wine.
Although you can find the menu here, but luckily they
changed it slightly. On that day they ran out of the ceasar salad but instead
the offer was even better with duck salad from the normal menu. Some of us
went for that and either for the gazpacho with crab shavings or the octopus
salad. Everything provided delight for the eye and for the tastebuds as well.
The main course options were also changed for the better J instead of some pear salad a big duck burger
was spotted on it and unlike all my colleagues who went for the salmon I
went for the burger, which really made my tastebuds to be excited! It was with
duck foie gras and plum sauce! That’s something we always have for Christmas
dinner, so I was really pleased! Yummy! The portions were bigger than the ones
we had in Skylon and we did not need to order sides for these dishes.
Did not really see people around us having the same offer,
so could also get a peek of the normal food and oh big yum for everything. It
was real #foodporn! J
(search for this hashtag on instagram) Haha!
We had another glass of wine before we left. J
But enough of the words, let’s see the pictures!
